Chapter 1
It had been raining for days already
and the air was icy...getting through your clothes ...
your homes ... even with the fireplace on, you couldn’t get the mist around the rooms
away ...
Streets were
desert ...
Walking through
the street and looking down only to
raise her look once in a while ... She wasn’t cold ... the lights in the street
were making a warm halo reflecting on the wet ground from the rain and her
soaked shoes and her drenched clothes she wouldn’t even feel ...
She
accelerate toward the steps at the end of the walkway ... then to the top of
the steps and then to the city park crossing it with a steady paste ... then
the lake were she was heading to ...
She counted to herself exactly so she wouldn’t get
lost...it had been a long time and she only had this night to do it ...to go
back and get it done ...
The moon was
shinning behind the clouds ... between few of them moving you could feel it
illuminating only too much the path she was following ...
Now the
houses were farther apart from each other, and only some candlesi n the windows
would make sign of life inside ...and the path would become dark with the night
enveloping it, each time the clouds were covering the moon again ...
She got to
the Lake finally to stop by the crossing ... she had to remember which one to
take ... this darkness and rain, and the
sky almost totally covered wasn’t making
it easy to remember... last time she was here it was a clear night ...
She heard the ruffling behind her ... and then
to her right ...in the bushes between the trees...he was there ...
***
Chapter 2
...
Waiting still she seen his eyes flashing through the bushes staring at
her ... still ... but on an edge to jump at the second if it wasn’t her or if
she was not alone ...
This was the
side of the crossing path to follow ...
she hold her
breath deeply and step slowly into that side of the crossing on the path right
by the bushes and between the trees ... there was a small clearing and a stone
to hold on to until her eyes get used to the darker light there ...
With the
trees, the rain didn’t got to the ground
and so the path was dry to walk on ... once her eyes got used to the level of
light enough to distinguish the path from the trees and branches, she looked to
find him beside her and there he was waiting few steps aside from her looking
ahead on the path ... she looked to get the view of the path ahead she will
have to follow to it, and then to him again, but he was gone ... all she could
hear was some branches cracking and more ruffles near by ... but alone she
was...
She started
to walk slowly ... the path was clear though ... like a warmer shade of dust
from the rest around her totally dark ...
As she
walked she could hear them following her from beside the path ... he was not
alone ...
Very few branches were abstructing the path to follow
and she found it easy to get through this part ... It was still early in the
night and she should arrive in time ...
The path ended into the clearing faster then she
remembered ... There she seen them there waiting for her ...
***
Chapter 3
She went to them slowly ... and they didn’t move ...
the sky was making some shades from the moon
showing through some clouds and so she could see them clearly in the small
clearing even with the night around ...
They were
tense ... it was bad ...
She stepped
pass them and they surrounded her to walk with her and show her the place to
get to ...
She looked
quickly to see if he was still there and in the bushes and if he knew she was
going with them ... but she couldn’t see a thing between the trees ...
They guided
her to the tree ... the one beside the entrance ...
She knew
they couldn’t come with her because the path there was going to steep lower
with thick branches on the top of it,
and only bending under them to follow and holding to them she could get
to the other side ... and only her could fit there ...
She patted
them both and went to find the dirt step beside the tree holding to the
branches on top of her head and crawling under them ... roots were coming out
of the ground and the ground was slippery from the rain earlier ...
It was dark
there and she could barely see if she was even going to the right place or if
she was getting more lost into tree and branches ... it was a long steep slide
almost and felt like hours before she could get out of this part ... Her heart
was beating fast and she was grunting as she was holding on to the branches not
to slip down and loose control ... probably been only minutes but felt she
would never get to the bottom of this path ...
Finally the
branches were higher and the ground less steep and more level ... She stood there and waited to get her balance
and feel were she was ...
Here it was
almost just as dark and nothing except trees and a path few steps in front of
her ... not sure even if she had came out at the right place she hesitate
before to start walking and focused to
ground herself and prayed God to send her a sign if she was on the right path
...

Chapter 4
She heard
him hawling from the mountain rocks... how far she wasn’t sure ... or even what
direction he was ... the echo makes tricks and the sound travel mostly from
above ... but she had her sign and so she got onto the path following the dirt
ground were many had walked before
her, through this forest ... to the place
she had to go ...
The ground
was hard and so easy to follow compare to the ground between the trees full of
leaves and branches ...and again this halo coming from it ... easy to follow
...
The hawling
was continuing ... not threatening to her but encouraging that she was coming
and would be there soon ... they were
telling him to hold on until she could get there ... to have faith she was
coming for him ... and to warn any other
not to interfere with her path ...
She walked
with steady steps but slowly to make
sure she wasn’t getting lost ... few times she stepped aside from the path as
it was turning and she would continue straight, but feeling the ground mushy
moss and fern under her feet like a cushion she quickly stepped back on the
path and followed it properly ...
Tired she
still had to continue and not loose a second ... she was now sweating and need
to rest for a few minutes... a creek she could hear from some time was crossing
the path she was following and hoping it would indeed as she didn’t want to get
out of the path to find it and get lost ... she stopped at this junction and
drank from the fresh natural spring water there from her cupped hand and
refreshed her face from the sweat ...

Chapter 5
After refreshing herself and resting few minutes she hurried
back ... she had to find him soon ... and get there quick ...
After about
10 minutes only of walking, she seen the glare in the distance, through the
trees ... everything was still dripping cold drips of water from the heavy rain
earlier ... but inside her heart was tumping and she would only feel the
anticipation growing to get there as soon as possible ... to get to him ...
The lights
were like a stare moving as she was walking,
and she walked like holding her breath from the bottom of her throat ...
like walking as if someone was pushing her forward but her body holding back
and wanting to turn and run as fast as she could from there ... she had to push
herself even more when more lights flickered around the first one ... and the
shadows around her they were making with this hazing light was almost to much
to bear ... she wished she could walk with her eyes closed ...
She continue
but wasn’t feeling cold ... they were doing this ... so she wouldn’t give up
...
She was
almost there ... she breathed deaply and stood still for few seconds to compose
herself ... she had to be ready ... her mind had to be insync ... she stood
there a little more until she would reach this place in her spirit and mind ...
she felt it taking over her ... slowly ... the first times it was scary and she
wouldn’t be able to get through it ... after few times she got stronger and was
able to sustain it and stay in it ... stronger and stronger her mind got with
the intense discipline and was able keep it longer ... even outside elements
wouldn’t be able to shake it out as she got more practice ... but even with
years of mastering the Art ... she still feel it as unsettling at first ...
When she was
ready ... she took a step in his direction ...

Chapter 6
Walking slowly and steady, she crossed the edge of awthorne
bushes ... crushing fruits under her feet ... branches brushing on her arms and
hair ... without an hesitation in her steps or even paying attention to what
was happening ... she crossed it ...
Arriving on
the other side she checked herself quickly to make sure she had succeed ... and
indeed she had ...
Not one
scratch ... no stains... no branches stuck in her hair ... just as if she had
just appeared on the other side without walking through it ... she smiled satisfied ... That is why she was
sent ...
She seen the
light post that had been illuminating when she was still on the other side ...
2 lights ... she thought she had seen 3 lights ... indeed they were here then
... watching and observing ... making sure everything will go to plan ...
There under
the light post he was lying ... weak and vulnerable ...
***
Chapter 7
She kneeled
beside him ... he was lying on his side on the top of the stone ... his eyes
had lost coloration were shinning a strange shade light from them ... lines
shades were moving all over his body like electric lightning ... he was still
... waiting for her to arrive and help him ...
Even weak,
he could tear her throat and shred her in one split second, before she could
even move away from him ... if she was to make the wrong move ... if he was to
lose his focus ... if the time would shift and he would pass this way ...
He was huge
... his head as she approached was about half the size of her ... his paw was
the size of her head ...
He lay still
when she came closer to him and said something so he would recognise her voice
... the lights on his body shifted a little but he didn’t made a sound or a
move ...
She extended
her arm slowly and let him get the scent from her hand close to his nose ...
his nostrils wiggled and she held her breath ...
She had to
come closer to him to see exactly where was the wound ... she could see no
bleeding ... she talked slowly telling what she was doing ... where was he hurt
...
She moved
her hand over him and stopped close to his ribbed cage, at the junction between
the rib and the hip and sensed warmth there ... she seen red ... and felt cold
...
He was
losing life energy from the other side ... she was crossed as to what she could
do from where she was ... he was way to heavy
for her to move him and he would most likely lose his composure if
attempted to anyways ...
The others
were around them but in the dark and she couldn’t see them but knew they were
watching in silence ...
The light
she had noticed from the other side but that wasn’t here when she arrived,
moved along the trees ... like checking something ... thinking ...
The damage
were bad and he was there already for some time having lost some more energy
... she knew she had to act quickly ...
The light
slowed down when in front of her and she felt bathed in it ... it was
frightening ... worst then this Giant next to her that could just jump and bit
her ... at the same time it was a moment
of excitement in this unknown communication ...
to feel this is every explorator wish ... any archaeologist or astronaut
chance ... to reach what no one had before ... to be the one there alone with
no one to ask the right answer ... to live what no one could explain ... She
felt the thinking and the syncing with him, she was trying to stay calm and
concentrate, to understand what she was supposed to understand ...
Her hand
extanded to the rocky stone under him as she watched in case he would jerk ...
he didn’t but looked like relieved ... she reached the place she had felt the
warmth coming from him but on the other side ... from under him between the
rock and his body ... he didn’t move ...
She felt the
rock under her palm and felt the engraving there ... the ones she was looking for
before ... he was lying on top of them ... this was perfect ... she turned her
palm so it would face his side instead, the back of her hand against the rock
now ... and waited to assess what would
come to her ... only light she could see now and was shifting in some lethargy
... this was too intense ... her human mind wasn’t going to sustain this way
much longer ... with all her left strength ... she tried to stay awake and not
fall and kept her hand there against the wound of his side ... the lighting on
his body was now shifting in sort of frenzy going over his body and the place
on his side felt burning hot ... and yet she was more and more cold ...
The
lightning on his body started to slow down and become more like a halo and
shrinked to his side only, she could see
from under the space where her hand was between his body and the stone ... only
his eyes were now lighted and his injured side ...
***
Chapter 8
She felt the
light fading away from her or was she passing out ? ... maybe she was fainting
slowly ...
she looked
at him and his eye connected with hers and she felt gratitude ...
she seen the light in the tree leaving and
vanishing ...
And looking
above of them, from the top of the rock, she seen them that were waiting in
silence from before ... the sky was cleared now and the moon was bright ... she
felt gratitude again ...
He was saved
she knew now ... She, had saved him ... an honor ... she had been chosen and
succeeded ...
